"Leave now or I'll make sure you never have your own cubs," Altair threatened. His mind was screaming at him to roar what he himself wanted to say but he didn't think it would be appropriate, his sensible side taking over.
"Sure you will. And I'm sure High King Ular would love to hear about another Tigeronda slicing off another's malehood," the Tigeronda hissed back.

Maua watched in horror. She suddenly snapped out of it and backed away slowly. She was frightened. She knew she was in heat but it wasn't supposed to happen like it almost did.

"You doubt me?" Altair growled, his hood fluffing in anger.
"If I do?" the other Tigeronda spat. With a flash, Altair had slid under the Tigeronda and with a swift swipe of his claws, the other male's member had been removed. The Tigeronda yowled in pain as it collapsed to the side. Altair hung his now bloodied paw in front of him, glaring at the writhing Tigeronda.
"You don't doubt me..." Altair replied gruffly, his pupils slits as he watched the Tigeronda writhe.

Altair noticed Maua moving away out of the corner of his eye. He looked over at her and saw fear in her eyes. His facial features changed from his anger toward the Tigeronda to fear that he had scared her enough that she would run from him. Turning back to the Tigeronda, he hissed, "Leave now." The Tigeronda didn't wait another moment as Altair leaned in; he ran for it and yowled and roared in pain. Altair watched him run before turning to Maua, flattening his hood. "Are... Are you okay?" he asked gently.

Maua quivered softly. "Had you not been here he would have mated me and I would have been forced into it. I don't want that to happen to me again." She said softly.

Altair quickly moved to her side, allowing her to lean on him if she wanted to. He gently nuzzled her, licking her cheek. "I'm sorry I almost let that happen. If I had been quicker, you wouldn't have even had to deal with that," he replied.

She leaned her head on his shoulder. "At least you were here." she whispered softly, looking up at him and nuzzling his chin. "That's all that matters Altair." She purred softly.

Altair blinked in surprise at how she was talking, unsure of how to really react. "Er...Maua, this may seem odd to ask but...were you planning on going anywhere?" he asked her.

Altair rocked back and forth on his paws, a tad nervous to ask since he had always been alone on his journeys. "Um...well, if you'd like, you could come with me," he replied.

Altair looked at her and gently smiled. "Well, okay," he said, raising his hood again and brightening up a bit. Altair looked around where they were, wondering which way they should go. It was getting dark so he thought they should sleep.

Altair nodded before padding toward where he had been heading. "Um...are you able to run?" he asked her. He knew of a good place to stay that was somewhat nearby and while it would only take him nearly a hundred bounds, he wasn't sure how long Maua's strides were.
