Stephano saw the moose up ahead, his tail twitching. It was huge! He looked back to Suroka, wondering if she would be able to get a good grip on the moose so they could carry it back to the others.

Suroka nodded and watched him. He was stealthy and strong. She liked that about him.

Stephano wriggled his hindquarters before leaping forward, rushing at the moose to knock it over. He hoped Suroka would know to give some quick slices to the back of its legs so it would be easier to get a second shot.

Suroka smiled rushing in to the moose, the legs her goal. She immediately went for the legs swiping at the tendon in them to make the moose's legs buckle. She smiled when the legs did buckle and waited for Stephano to give the killing blow.

Stephano leaped at the moose's neck and bit hard into it. The moose shuddered once before it lay still. Stephano sighed happily as he felt the life cease, knowing the damage a moose's hooves and antlers could do.

"Same with you," Stephano chuckled, licking his lips to clear them of the blood. "You did nicely with the legs. I've never seen a cleaner cut."

Suroka blushed deeply. "Thank you." She said looking down. She thought about her mother and shuffled the dirt with her paws sadly.

Stephano looked at her, wondering if he had said something wrong. "Is everything okay?" he asked her, hoping he hadn't.

Suroka looked up at him. Slowly she nodded looking back down. "I was just thinking about my mother. She died not long ago and my father died before I was born." She said softly.

"I'm so sorry..." Stephano replied, lowering his hood. "I bet she was lovely to give you such looks and your father must have had quite the charm to give to you." Stephano purred gently, hoping that would cheer her up a bit.

She smiled a bit. "Thank you but I never knew my father. My mother talked about him a lot though. She used to tell me stories about him and that he was a High King until he was killed in the War or Roars." She said softly. "As for my mother she was beautiful. She had dark fur with white stripes. I can still remember her pale blue eyes." She sighed gently looking up at him. "She died when I turned 30. I was still young and didn't want to Except her death, but she told me to seek out my half sister before she died. So I did and a few years after I found Nadir." She said.
(Yes Nadir and Suroka are High King Api's daughters. Api was in love with Suroka's mother but had to leave when he found out he was betrothed to Vatten and he soon fall in love with Vatten. Anyway no more spoilers here. Note me on DA if you want to know more.)

"Oh wow...I didn't realize your dad was..." Stephano stopped before looking down. "Um..." He cleared his throat, hoping she wouldn't get angry or sad even if he didn't want to talk about it. "Shall we bring this to your half-sister and Phantom then?"

Suroka nodded grabbing the legs and beginning to drag the moose's body with some effort. She didn't look back at him.
